What are the benefits of blogging for students?
A main benefit of blogging for students is that it helps students become better writers. Research shows that when students write to an authentic audience, as opposed to just their teacher, it leads to students writing more, using more detail, and being more careful of grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. Additionally, another benefit of blogging is that it allows students to interact with people, such as peers, parents, and other teachers, in an online space. This helps students learn how to share their ideas and opinions in a respectful manner online. Learning how to interact respectfully online is a 21st century skill that students need practice to master.
